To consider a response to the review of speed limits on Oxfordshire A & B Roads. As deferred from the meeting of the Council on 13 July 20206 (Minute FC382 relates)

Following deferment from the meeting of the Council (Minute FC382 13.07.2026 relates) the Committee considered the correspondence received from Oxfordshire County Council regarding a consultation of proposed rural speed limit changes.

Members generally supported the proposals, noting that the recommendations appeared proportionate and aimed at improving road safety.

To receive and consider any response to the general review of speed limits on Oxfordshire's rural A and B class road network.

The Council received notification of Oxfordshire County Council's review of speed limits on the rural A and B class road network.

Members agreed that the consultation should be referred to the Planning & Development Committee for consideration and the preparation of a Council response. The Committee Clerk would also circulate the consultation details to all Members to enable individual responses to be submitted if desired.

Resolved:

1. That, the consultation be referred to the Planning & Development Committee for consideration and response and,
2. That, details of the consultation be circulated to all Members for information.
